Friends. Flights. Fictional Characters.
From a young age, I have always loved reading. I remember sitting in my elementary school library reading Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst, laughing to myself and planning my escape to Australia alongside Alexander. In fact, my first time on an airplane was on a trip to Australia when I was just 14 years old. That’s the power of literature; it inspires us and allows us to experience new places. Because of that experience, traveling, whether in a fictional setting or in the real world, became a priority in my life.
A few years ago, while in Guatemala attending a friend’s yoga and wellness retreat, I sat in a casita reading a book, envisioning the type of retreat where we gathered in a beautiful place with our books. I began to dream of the community that could be built upon a similar love of literature, and in January 2024, I hosted my first Book Lovers Retreat. Since then, this community has grown and blossomed into one of the greatest joys of my life. I have a long list of places to explore, and I hope you’ll join us!
